Alright boys and girls we’re headed to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. It’s called Chicagoland because it’s on land and it’s closer to Chicago than say South Bend. The speedway is a solid hour plus outside of Chicago but calling it Joliet Speedway would just resort to everyone making Blues Brothers references. So it’s Chicagoland, home to the worst self given nickname in racing. “The Magnificent Mile and a Half.” Yuck.
Last season we were given a finish for the ages and a call to go with it. The infamous “SLIDE JOB” from Dale Jr. came at this race. Unfortunately, we likely won’t see that type of finish this season since there will be very little off throttle time and the inability to get clean air. You should still watch though because it’s going to be hot as hell and no one knows how this package will work under the midwest summer sun.
